We set off from school very early on Monday morning and travel through the day to Germany. We usually arrive at our youth hostel by late afternoon in time for an evening meal. The youth hostel is very well equipped with rooms for 2-10 students, a fantastic restaurant and excellent outdoor facilities including lots of green areas and a football pitch and amphitheatre. We spend a day in Cologne visiting the beautiful cathedral as well as the Olympic Sport Museum and the Lindt Chocolate factory. We also spend a day cruising the Rhine and we visit the beautiful town of Ruedesheim.

The last day in Germany is spent at the theme park Phantasialand which has every kind of attraction for the thrill-seekers as well as those who prefer a quiet life. We leave Germany after breakfast on Friday and travel through the day, arriving back at school late on Friday.
