Each year the Ten Tors event has a unique way of making itself stand out from other years in its own particular set of circumstances. This year was no exception but there were multiple ways why it was so special. Firstly it was the first time in a long time, possibly even 15-years that St Peter’s had three teams participating such was the capability of our remaining cohort that we were able to fulfil a third team. Secondly it could have been the fact we trained in such wet conditions and when it came to the event our teams had nothing but blue skies and the heat of the sun to contend with. However, what stood out above all was a level of teamwork that made the teams all ultimately successful. The challenge of the event is simply impossible without teamwork and this year everyone rose to the occasion and delivered.

This teamwork started with our reservist who allowed the teams to enter the weekend knowing any last minute individual mishap wouldn’t scupper the entire team. In the event itself; sharp navigation, disciplined endurance, team reliance on keeping nourished and hydrated, camp craft and determination to keep going the following day.

As always there were thousands of people aligning the finish line including of an abundance of St Peter’s friends & family supporters which helped to create a fantastic atmosphere. The teams did their supporters, the school, the staff and above all else themselves incredibly proud.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the training this season and we know you will all have gained from the training and experience. Thank you to the behind the scenes team at St Peter’s School, Hele’s Educational Trust & the dedicated Ten Tors Staff who make it all possible.

Finally congratulations to the amazing challengers of this year’s Ten Tors event. You truly deserve the recognition of a fantastic achievement, well done crew!
